The 5 Ws:

  • Who, was involved
  • What, happened
  • Where, did it happen
  • When, did it happen
  • Why,did it happen
-How, did it happen can also be useful.
-They always write the basis of a story.
-Before going into an interview make sure you have the right amount of information.
-Make sure you know the difference between opinion and fact.
-Never take a side, so your audience can decide for itself.

News gathering is...
  •  finding a story
  • Getting an interview from one side of the story
  • Getting an interview to counter the other side of the story.
Interview review:

WWW: I have asked the main questions properly without pauses.
EBI: I need to be calm and wait for the people to answer the questions before asking the next to one, but i also need to be flawless and ask secondary questions like "what did this make u feel?".
